Hannibal Parks & Recreation and Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation are teaming up to offer free Hannibal Cannibal training programs.  The training programs will last eight weeks and will meet each Saturday morning starting May 5, 2012.

Two separate training programs will be available.  The Couch to Cannibal program is designed to help participants prepare for the 5k race.  A second training program, 5k to 10k, will be available for those who have previously trained for a 5k race and want to tackle the 10k.

The programs will be led by Bob Wathen, a local runner; members of Hannibal Parks and Recreation, and YMCA staff.  Training guides are available at the top of Soap Hollow Trail at Riverview Park, online at hannibalcannibal.com or hannibalparks.org.

For more information contact Mary Lynne Richards with Hannibal Parks and Recreation at 221-0154 or mlrichards@hannibal-mo.gov or Bob Wathen at 406-2960 or thewathens@charter.net.  The programs are offered free of charge and no reservation is required.  If you would like to participate,  training begins at the top of Soap Hollow Road at Riverview Park at 8:00 am on May 5, 2012.
