Hannibal Regional Hospital honored the members of its Volunteer Chaplaincy Corp with a banquet and installation of officers at the Quality Inn on Thursday, March 18, 2010.
 
Rev. Ron Pashia, a member of God’s Harvester’s Ministries, was honored as volunteer chaplain of the year.  Rev. Pashia began volunteering in 2008 and provided more than 1000 hours of service in 2009.  This exuberant and contagiously optimistic chaplain, who is an excellent singer and musician, was lauded for exhibiting the hospital’s values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence.
 
As a group, the HRH Chaplaincy Corp volunteered 6883 hours during the last fiscal year.  They ministered to more than 8100 patients, family members and team members during that time.
 
Officers installed during the evening include: President - Rev. Jim Woychuk, Evangelical Free Church; President-Elect – Pastor Bruce Battle, Tabernacle of Praise; Rev. Bertie Rose, Palmyra Presbyterian Church; Member at Large, Two Years – Elder Philip Rose, Palmyra Presbyterian Church; and Member at Large, One Year – Rev. Lindell Shumake, God’s Harvester’s Ministries.
 
Chaplains honored for their years of service were: 15 years of service – Chaplain Robert Bixler; 10 Years of Service – Rev. Tom Day; and 5 Years of Service – Rev. Jack Kennedy, Rev. Bertie Rose, and Rev. P.J. Southam.
