Hannibal Regional Hospital is working to build awareness of the risk factors and symptoms of heart disease during American Heart Month in February.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. Recognizing the warning signs of heart attack and getting prompt treatment is of utmost importance to save the heart muscle from the damaging effects of a heart attack.
During February, staff from Hannibal Regional Hospital and Hannibal Regional Medical Group are available to visit your business or organization to do a presentation on heart disease which has information regarding risk factors, symptoms of heart attack, nutrition, exercise and stress management. These presentations are available at no cost as a community service. To arrange a speaker, call Freida Juliano, Cardiology Service Line Manager, at 573-629-3327.
Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation will be hosting a Sweetheart Swing Dinner and Dance on Saturday, February 20th. Proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Cardiology Services Patient Assistance Fund. The Sweetheart Swing Dinner and Dance will be held at the Star Theatre and will offer an evening filled with entertainment, a dance contest and dancing with a live band. Limited number of tickets are available and pre-registration is required.
In January and February, the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation will be selling long-sleeved red t-shirts also to benefit the Cardiology Services Patient Assistance Fund.
