John C. Grossmeier - President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. John C. Grossmeier is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hannibal Regional Hospital and the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Grossmeier earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters of Healthcare Administration from Washington University – School of Medicine, St. Louis. Mr. Grossmeier serves on a number of professional and community boards and was honored with the Missouri Hospital Association’s 2008 Visionary Leadership Award.
C. Todd Ahrens - Vice President - General Counsel
Mr. C. Todd Ahrens is the Vice President – General Counsel for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Mr. Ahrens joined the organization as General Counsel in 2007. Mr. Ahrens received his Bachelor of Sciences and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He previously was employed by the Rendlen Law Firm, PC, and then became a partner of Ahrens, Hale & Lemon, LLC. Mr. Ahrens is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Tenth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American College of Health Care Executives, and the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Ahrens’ community involvement includes working on the Salvation Army Advisory Board, serving as president from 1999-2000; the Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce, serving as president in 2001; the Hannibal Evening Kiwanis Club, serving as president from 2001 to 2002; the Missouri Society of Health Care Attorneys Board of Directors; the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri Board of Directors; the Commerce Bank Advisory Board, the Beth Haven Nursing Home Board of Directors; the Hannibal Regional Physician Hospital Organization Board of Directors; and the United Way of the Mark Twain Area Board of Directors.
Roger Dix - Vice President – Finance
Mr. Roger Dix is the Vice President-Finance of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System and has held this position since August of 2000 overseeing the financial division of the organization. In 1991, Mr. Dix attained certified status as a Fellow through the testing process of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Mr. Dix earned a Masters of Science in Healthcare Financial Management at the University of South Carolina in 1984 after successfully completing a certificate program in the Executive Graduate Program in Healthcare Financial Management in 1982. Mr. Dix earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1975 from Daemen College.
Jeff Evans - Vice President – Information and Technology
Mr. Jeff Evans is the Vice President – Information and Technologies for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Mr. Evans is leading and managing the development, implementation and operation of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System’s clinical, financial and managerial information systems as well as technology assessment and procurement processes. Mr. Evans received his Masters of Health Administration from the College of Public Health, University of Iowa, and Masters of Business Administration from the Tippie School of Management at the University of Iowa.
Penny Nunley - Vice President – Human Resources
Ms. Penny Nunley is the Vice President – Human Resources for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Ms. Nunley has been a member of the senior leadership team since 1998. In 2006, Ms. Nunley passed the certification examination through the National Society for Human Resource Management and is recognized as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management (SPHR). In addition to her Human Resources responsibilities at the system level, Ms. Nunley serves as the Compliance Officer for Hannibal Regional Hospital and became certified in Healthcare Compliance in June 2008. Ms. Nunley also assumed responsibility for Physician Recruitment in July 2009. Ms. Nunley completed her undergraduate degree at Northwestern Oklahoma State University majoring in Psychology and Sociology and earned her graduate degree from Southern Nazarene University in Management Sciences.
Julie H. Leverenz - Vice President-Strategy and Planning
Ms. Julie H. Leverenz is the Vice President – Strategy and Planning for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Ms. Leverenz has been a member of senior management at Hannibal Regional Hospital since 1987. Ms. Leverenz completed her undergraduate education at the University of Missouri - Columbia in Speech and Communication in 1984. She is also a graduate of the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University where she earned an MBA in 1998. Ms. Leverenz has been an active community leader for several decades, having served as the President of the Girl Scout council, President of her local Chamber of Commerce, and as the founding President of a local Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. She is currently serving as the Vice Moderator for the Missouri Union Presbytery and will serve as moderator in 2010. Ms. Leverenz recently helped lead the development and introduction of a free clinic in Hannibal and is currently serving as the chair of the board. Ms. Leverenz also serves as a member of the Missouri Hospital Association’s Data Committee and is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.
Doug Ruble - Vice President – Facilities
Mr. Doug Ruble is the Vice President – Facilities for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Mr. Ruble joined the organization in 1993. Mr. Ruble attended Truman State University and John Wood Community College. Mr. Ruble has been involved in healthcare facility and construction management for 31 years and is a Certified Facility Engineer, Registered Healthcare Safety Officer and Certified Industrial Electrician. Mr. Ruble is on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Society of Healthcare Engineering (AHE) and United Communities Credit Union, he is also a member of the American Legion Post 55. Mr. Ruble is the Hannibal Regional Hospital Representative for the Region B Homeland Security Oversight Committee as well as the Missouri Hospital Emergency Preparedness Region B.
Lydia Pope - Director – System Relations
Ms. Lydia M. Pope is the Director – System Relations for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Ms. Pope joined the organization in 2000. As the Director – System Relations, Ms. Pope is responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation and operation of the System’s internal and external communications and marketing initiatives and coordinating the Boards of Directors and physician relations functions in support of the System’s mission, values, resources and priorities. Ms. Pope has a Bachelors degree in Public Communication and Human Relations from Western Illinois University and received her Masters in Business Administration from Quincy University.

Sarah Bradshaw - Vice President – Nursing
Ms. Sarah Bradshaw is the Vice President-Nursing of Hannibal Regional Hospital. As a nurse of thirty-one years, Sarah has worked in many capacities in her nursing career, most recently Director of Nursing and Director of Hannibal Regional Hospital Home Health Agency. Ms. Bradshaw received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Walden University.
David Hevel - Vice President – Quality
Mr. David Hevel is the Vice President – Quality of Hannibal Regional Hospital. Mr. Hevel has 29 years experience in training and development including public and industrial education, management development, quality system design, quality system auditing, organizational development interventions, and instructional design and implementation. Mr. Hevel earned a B.S. from Oregon State University in Monmouth, Oregon. He also has earned advanced degree hours pursuant to a M.S. in Secondary/Vocational School Administration from University of Missouri- Columbia. He is a Certified Quality Manager by the American Society of Quality.
Suzanne Koehler - Vice President - Clinical Services
Ms. Suzanne Koehler is the Vice President – Clinical Services for Hannibal Regional Hospital. Ms. Koehler received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University and her Masters of Business Administration degree from the University Of Notre Dame. Ms. Koehler joined the organization in January 2010, with responsibility for leading the clinical service departments in providing patient centered care. With over 25 years in the healthcare industry, Ms. Koehler has significant experience in business development, consulting, finance, and operations in acute and post acute care segments.
Scott Siemer - Vice President - Service Lines
Mr. Scott Siemer is the Vice President – Service Lines for Hannibal Regional Hospital, leading and managing the development of Hannibal Regional Hospital’s Orthopedic, Oncology, Emergency and Cardiology Service Lines. With over sixteen years as a senior healthcare leader, Mr. Siemer joined the organization in January 2010. Mr. Siemer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Kansas and his Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from the University of Dallas. Mr. Siemer is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.

Dean Akerson - Executive Director
Mr. Dean Akerson was named Executive Director of the Hannibal Regional Medical Group in March of 2008. He had previously served as a member of the Hannibal Regional Hospital Board of Directors for six years and chaired several of the board committees. Prior to joining the Hannibal Regional Medical Group, Mr. Akerson was Founder and President of a consulting firm that provided exploration and implementation of modern management techniques that promoted continuous business improvement. He additionally served as adjunct faculty for Hannibal LaGrange College, teaching Strategic Management, Marketing Management, International Business, and Group and Organizational Dynamics for the Advance Program. Mr. Akerson was employed for 21 years at Diemaker’s, Inc. where he served as Vice President for this international manufacturer with 1200 employees. Mr. Akerson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management and has served on Boards of Directors for business interests in Europe and Asia as well as several local service and charitable organization boards.
Dr. Richard Draper - Medical Director
Dr.Richard E. Draper, has been the Medical Director of the Hannibal Regional Medical Group since January 2008. He joined Hannibal Regional Hospital in March 2006 as Medical Director, Emergency Services. Dr. Draper earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma in 1974; a Masters degree in biology from University of Missouri, Kansas City in1976; and a Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Kansas City College of Medicine and Biosciences in 1981. He completed a rotating internship and Internal Medicine residency at Lakeside Hospital in 1985. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Hannibal Free Clinic and serves on the Board of Directors of the Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce.

Wendy Harrington - President/CEO - Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation
Ms. Wendy Harrington leads the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation in partnership with the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation Board. Ms. Harrington is a native of northeast Missouri, and is passionate about sustaining and enhancing the excellent healthcare services provided by the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. As President of the Foundation, Ms. Harrington manages all efforts to raise, fiscally manage and disburse privately donated funds to Hannibal Regional Hospital to maintain and grow its services. Previous to her role with the Foundation, Ms. Harrington led a Business Research Group for the University of Missouri, and previous to that was the Director of Marketing for a national mail order catalog. Ms. Harrington holds a Bachelor of Science degree from William Woods University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a Doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
