    <title>Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation’s ‘Shoeless Joe’s Celebrity Golf Classic’ Raises Money for ‘Rays of Hope’ </title>
    <link>http://hrhonline.org/PatientsVisitors/NewsMedia/News/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/149/Hannibal-Regional-Hospital-Foundations-Shoeless-Joes-Celebrity-Golf-Classic-Raises-Money-for-Rays-of-Hope.aspx</link>
    <description>The Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation&#39;s second annual Shoeless Joe&#39;s Celebrity Golf Classic held June 15 raised over $60,000 to benefit the year-long Rays of Hope campaign, which is raising funds for equipment and resources at the James E. Cary Cancer Center.&amp;nbsp; Rays of Hope sought to generate $100,000 this year and now has exceeded that goal.

The Celebrity Golf Classic, which topped the amount raised in 2010 had the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network as its tournament sponsor, provided participants the opportunity to play with a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and/or other sports celebrities.&amp;nbsp; The event was held at Norwoods Golf Club in Hannibal.

Participants also enjoyed a night at the ballpark June 14 with over two dozen sports celebrities at a Hannibal Cavemen game at Clemens Field.

&quot;Having the sports celebrities join Cavemen fans for a night at the ballpark adds so much fun to the Shoeless Joe&amp;rsquo;s event,&quot; commented Randy Park, member of the Golf Classic steering committee.&amp;nbsp; &quot;It&amp;rsquo;s the perfect combination of two great summer past times, and it&amp;rsquo;s great to get everyone so involved, especially the kids who are so excited to come face to face with sports greats.&amp;rdquo;

Among the celebrities to attend were former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Woody Williams, former Altanta Braves Ryan Klesko, former MU and St. Louis Cardinals football player Johnny Roland, former MU and St. Louis Cardinal Mel Gray, and former St. Louis Blues player Mike Zuke.&amp;nbsp; Other sports celebrities who appeared for the second year include former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Art Still and Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Tom Henke.

&quot;Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation is so appreciative of the overwhelming support we received for the Shoeless Joe&amp;rsquo;s event again this year,&quot; said Wendy Harrington, President/CEO of Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation.&amp;nbsp; &quot;Success with the Rays of Hope campaign will allow us to purchase advanced technology that will provide greater precision in radiation therapy for patients at the James E. Cary Cancer Center.&amp;rdquo;

The James E. Cary Cancer Center (JECCC), which is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the American College of Radiology, is a joint project of Hannibal Regional Hospital and the Hannibal Clinic. The JECCC opened in 2003.

The JECCC annually provides more than 5,000 radiation and chemotherapy treatments, plus offers numerous kinds of support groups, survivor groups, seminars and educational classes.&amp;nbsp; The center serves patients from northeast Missouri, west-central Illinois and southeast Iowa.

    <title>Hannibal Regional Healthcare System Selects Allscripts Acute Care Electronic Health Record to Support Connected Community of Health</title>
    <link>http://hrhonline.org/PatientsVisitors/NewsMedia/News/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/135/Hannibal-Regional-Healthcare-System-Selects-Allscripts-Acute-Care-Electronic-Health-Record-to-Support-Connected-Community-of-Health.aspx</link>
    <description>Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, which operates a not-for-profit community hospital in northeast Missouri, has selected the Sunrise Enterprise&amp;trade; suite of solutions from Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX).&amp;nbsp; The Sunrise Enterprise suite will connect caregivers throughout the hospital and across local physician practices to provide state-of-the-art decision support and seamless information exchange for improved integration of patient care.

Hannibal Regional Hospital will transition from its existing inpatient clinical information system to Sunrise Enterprise, which includes the industry&amp;rsquo;s most utilized Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) as well as integrated pharmacy, critical care and emergency department solutions, creating a comprehensive acute care Electronic Health Record (EHR).&amp;nbsp; After an extensive and highly competitive search, Hannibal Healthcare System selected Allscripts based on the company&amp;rsquo;s track record of delivering high rates of physician CPOE adoption, as well as its ability to connect hospital caregivers with community physicians for coordinated transitions of care that ensure patient information is never lost during hand-offs.

&amp;ldquo;Our partnership with Allscripts will assist Hannibal Regional Healthcare System and our team of healthcare providers to raise the standard for offering exceptional healthcare services in northeast Missouri,&amp;rdquo; stated John C. Grossmeier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hannibal Regional Hospital and Hannibal Regional Healthcare System.&amp;nbsp; &amp;ldquo;This initiative is aligned with our organization&amp;rsquo;s priorities to continuously enhance the care experience for both patients and families.&amp;nbsp;  The Sunrise Enterprise suite will make assessment of patients and development of care plans more convenient for physicians and nurses, which will better allow our entire team to provide the highest quality care possible.&amp;rdquo;

Allscripts and Hannibal Regional Healthcare System will provide direct integration between Sunrise Enterprise and the Allscripts Professional Electronic Health Record currently in use at Hannibal Regional Medical Group (HRMG), another subsidiary of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System.&amp;nbsp; The ambulatory EHR currently connects and automates workflow for HRMG&amp;rsquo;s 55 physicians and providers across ten locations in Missouri and Illinois.

&amp;ldquo;Our physicians, nurses and other caregivers appreciate Sunrise&amp;rsquo;s user-friendly approach to care, including its knowledge-based workflows that will increase awareness of the patient&amp;rsquo;s status; with that information, providers will be able to make the best possible decisions for the care of each patient,&amp;rdquo; said Jeff W. Evans, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System&amp;rsquo;s Vice President -Information and Technology.&amp;nbsp; &amp;ldquo;In addition, we expect that this partnership with Allscripts will enable us to qualify for the full incentive payments provided by the federal government for Electronic Health Record adoption.&amp;rdquo;

As a 2011/12 ONC-ACTB certified Complete EHR, Sunrise Enterprise provides all of the capabilities needed for hospitals to demonstrate &amp;ldquo;meaningful use&amp;rdquo; of an Electronic Health Record and qualify for up to several million dollars in incentive payments under the federal HITECH Act.&amp;nbsp; To maximize its HITECH incentives, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System will implement Sunrise using the Allscripts Speed-to-Value accelerated implementation process.

Hannibal Regional will also take advantage of Allscripts Remote Hosting to provide 24/7 secure access to the Electronic Health Record while freeing up local space, resources and costs associated with maintaining computer servers and deploying applications on-site.

&amp;ldquo;Our goal is to deliver timely clinical insights that will help Hannibal Regional&amp;rsquo;s physicians and nurses drive better health outcomes for their patients,&amp;rdquo; said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts.&amp;nbsp; &quot;We are proud to support Hannibal Regional Healthcare System&amp;rsquo;s commitment to building a Connected Community of Health with their caregivers inside and outside of the hospital.&amp;rdquo;

Sunrise Enterprise includes Helios by Allscripts&amp;trade;, the company&amp;rsquo;s unique open platform strategy. Helios delivers vendor choice and flexibility by enabling clients and certified third-parties to natively integrate their applications with Allscripts enterprise solutions.&amp;nbsp; This lets Allscripts clients utilize best-of-breed systems without the additional cost and complexity of customized interfaces.&amp;nbsp; The result is improved clinician workflows, the ability to embrace and extend current technology investments, and more freedom to adopt the latest technology innovations by avoiding vendor delays.
